Korean Flag

Those of you who follow me on Instagram (@nyanails) already know that I spent three weeks last month in South Korea for a graduation trip with some of my friends! We had a ton of fun there and it was an experience I'm sure none of us will ever forget.
Before heading off on our travels though I painted a few designs inspired by the country to post while I was away! Unfortunately, I had planned to use my 14 hour flight to edit the photos of the designs but got on the plane only to realize that there were no outlets >.< Since my laptop only holds about 3 hours worth of charge I didn't get all of the photos edited on the plane and then didn't really have time to be editing while I on my trip, which is why they're being posted now - after my trip!
The first design that I did for the trip was this one inspired by Korea's flag!

I'm undecided on which flag is harder to paint: Canada's because of the forever-difficult-to-draw maple leaf or Korea's because of all those small little lines. Probably still Canada's. That maple leaf has tested my patience so many times over the years.

Since the thumb wasn't really part of the flag design I decided to write "Korea" on it in Hangul! (This is the font that I used for reference)

I have one more Korea-inspired design after this one to post so stay tuned for that!
